East Village, Stratford – Liveable Neighbourhood and Design Coding
East Village is a new mixed use urban neighbourhood at the Olympic Park in Stratford, London. Starting life as athlete’s housing during the 2012 Olympic Games, the wider site is being built out to a masterplan and design code. This study tour will give attendees a chance to visit an exemplary high density, sustainable and green neighbourhood, and explore the process of design coding from masterplan to delivery. It will include presentations from the design team and planning authority followed by a guided tour of the site.
This study tour will bring together Kent Design and Design Surrey for the first time, to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across the counties. The tour will last a half day and is accessible by train, tube or car.
