The Urban Design Foundations Course is a series of events that will equip attendees with an understanding of basic urban design principles, concepts and skills. It will give attendees the confidence to assess design and negotiate for better design. The course includes presentations from leading practitioners and practical group work sessions, along with resources for further learning.
The course has been created specifically for local authority planning officers but will be of interest to anyone looking to upskill in design. It comprises a full day in-person design skills session and 6 online events from September to December 2022.
Each event includes practical, interactive sessions to put ideas into practice. Attendees will be given resources and short assignments to complete between events (don’t worry, nothing too time consuming!).
On completion of the course, attendees will receive a certificate.
