On 2nd November our Director, Chris Lamb, joined over 500 participants in Liverpool for the ‘Regen22’ national conference for the UK regeneration industry. The morning sessions focussed on the opportunities and challenges for the regeneration of Liverpool. The afternoon opened to a national agenda and gave a platform to talk about Design South East’s work in regeneration.

Design South East’s presentation reflected on the complexity of regeneration and the need for multi-disciplinary skills, effective stakeholder engagement and commitment to quality of place. Given this multi-stakeholder environment, we talked about our role at the interface between communities, development and planning, helping to broker and facilitate better outcomes for everyone. It is a role that only an independent organisation such as Design South East, with the right mix of skills and expertise, can play.

Design South East is part of a national network of similar organisations, The Design Network. Together, we are the national design quality infrastructure, providing local access to multidisciplinary expertise to help local authorities and their stakeholders deliver healthy, sustainable and cohesive places.
