9.00am – 1.30pm
The Gateway, Innovation House, Ramsgate Road, Sandwich, Kent  CT13 9FF

East Kent is a great place to live, grow a business, experience culture and heritage and enjoy blue flag beaches, heritage coasts and outstanding landscape. Investment in road and rail infrastructure continues to improve the areas connectivity and major development sites have been released for housing, some in outstanding locations.

However, parts of East Kent also suffer from low land values and viability issues, perceptions of remoteness and uncertainty over its future. The result is a limited developer interest in bringing forward major developments and delivering developments of quality. This conference – part of our Kent Design programme – aims to change this. Exploring the specific issues, qualities and challenges of East Kent, we will look at case studies where values have been improved by good design, and develop the ideas to unlock East Kent to create a critical mass of activity and development.

Aimed at everyone interested in East Kent, the conference will bring together planners, architects, agents and developers.

Speakers include:

  • Paul Barber, Managing Director, Discovery Park
  • Chris Blundell, Director of Development and Regeneration, Golding Homes
  • Guy Hollaway, Principal, Guy Hollaway Architects
  • John Letherland, Partner, Farrells
  • Abby Raymond, Head of Built Environment, Thanet District Council
