Kent Architecture Centre has been appointed to develop and manage Kent Design, a collaborative initiative to support quality in the built environment in Kent and Medway.

The purpose of the Initiative is to foster the development of a community of interest and best practice in the built environment around the common purpose of shaping a better Kent and Medway.

  • Develop an events programme for people to come together across Kent and Medway. Events will include evening talks, seminars and conferences, round-tables and visits to sites in the UK and Europe.
  • Facilitate discussion and debate on the built environment and promote knowledge sharing
  • Provide a briefing on design issues through talks, articles and debates
  • Capture and manage knowledge developed through the programme

Audiences will vary, but will include the public, private and third sectors and the public; more specifically:

  • Local authorities Officers and Members
  • Developers and housebuilders, including major public and private sector
  • Contractors
  • Universities, students and tutors
  • Professional institutions and their members
  • The public of all ages
