Maggie is a town planner and chartered surveyor. Before joining Design South East, Maggie was a design review panel member, and latterly a panel chair. She was also a planning director at Lichfields, a UK planning and development consultancy, where she led the policy and law team that advised internally on complex issues arising on projects, and both externally and in-house on the implications of emerging Government policy and new legislation for the development sector. Until joining Design South East, she was also vice chair of the British Property Federation’s Planning Committee, frequently engaging with Government for both the Federation and independently – for example on the form and content of national planning practice guidance, on development management issues, and on possible changes to developer contributions. In her spare time, she regularly takes modern architecture tours in London, for Open City and for visiting groups from Europe and beyond that are arranged by German and Danish architecture practices.
