Mountfield Park was one of this year’s winners at the Housing Design Awards.
Designed by award-winning architects Proctor & Matthews, this development has been designed for 21st Century lifestyles, with the first 140 homes to set a new standard of home building in Canterbury.
The masterplan for Mountfield Park was developed with the help of two design reviews by DSE, and this first phase also received advice from our panel.
The development is arranged as six residential clusters and will feature a rich mix of colours, textures and materials which is a trademark featured across the practice’s extensive collection of residential projects. The public realm and landscape strategy is at the heart of this scheme, each cluster will feature a series of courts with an orchard style landscape focus.
Alongside these new homes there will also be a range of community services, including plans to build two new primary schools, a doctors’ surgery, local shops and a new community centre. These facilities will be centrally located and a network of pedestrian and cycle routes will provide easy access.
