Afreen brings her experience of 20+ years in design, facilitation, stakeholder management and complex problem solving in design and delivery of major development projects across Southeast. She has worked in both public and private sector on forming Strategic Design Policies, Masterplans, Parameter Plans, Development Briefs, Public Realm Design Frameworks, Design Guides and Design Codes for new towns and communities. Trained as an Architect and Urban Designer she has gained experience of securing high quality housing and built environment working with the practicalities of public sector design delivery process and management. She has provided expert advice on design development, design specific policies, public realm enhancements, conservation areas appraisals and requirements on RICS, RTPI and CIBSE standards.
Afreen was originally involved in the first London Design Review Panel organised by London Authorities Urban Design Forum (LAUDF) from 2004 to 2006. She enjoys her time best when she is reading, riding, or collaborating over creative dialogues as part of a wider community. Her spare time involves enhancing the creative curriculum as a School Governor and bringing people together as part of her work with a local Interfaith Community Café.
