As part of our ongoing commitment to high-quality, sustainable development and building on the success of our long-standing built environment expert network, Design South East is pleased to announce an open call for new members to join our network of built environment and sustainability experts.

About Design South East

We have been supporting local authorities and their stakeholders to deliver high-quality places for almost 30 years. We manage design review panels on behalf of authorities in London and across the wider South East region, and our expert network members contribute not only to our panels but to our full range of services to support design in planning at multiple points in the process; contributing to our training programmes to build in-house design skills and capacity; advising multiple stakeholders on how to achieve the best possible design outcomes; supporting authorities to respond to changes in the planning system, including design coding; facilitating community involvement to support the democratisation of planning processes; and advocating for climate action across the built environment industry.

Recruitment

We are refreshing a number of our local panels and recruiting new experts to our wider pool to ensure that we bring the thought leadership and expertise to enable us to respond effectively to current societal, environmental and economic challenges and to changing planning contexts.

We are seeking applications from people from a range of professions, backgrounds and localities across the wider South East region. We want to ensure that our panels are representative of the communities they serve and particularly encourage applications from women and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and minority groups. We welcome applications from those new to design review panels as well as those with previous experience.
