How can planning policy go beyond minimum requirements to deliver excellence in sustainable development?
In 2022, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) partnered with sustainability experts Bioregional to develop a Sustainability SPD supporting the Borough Local Plan. Adopted in July 2024, this SPD provides technical guidance on: energy efficiency and carbon reduction, sustainable materials and construction, climate adaptation and resilience, biodiversity enhancement and sustainable transport.
