Annabel Brown

Annabel is an Architect based in Essex. She runs an architecture practice that specialises in minor adjustments to existing and historic buildings through to community engagement projects in towns and cities. She has a particular interest in designing and adapting housing for the elderly and children. She has run a series of workshops in Essex encouraging young people to become involved in design decisions for the their local environment and is the creative lead on a series of artworks in underpasses in three towns in the county. Annabel has a love of the ordinary, colour and materials and carefully considers how architecture affects the health and wellbeing of its users and inhabitants. She trained at Cambridge and Liverpool Universities, is a member of the Royal Society of Arts and an Academician of the Academy of Urbanism. She has been teaching design in architecture schools since 1998.
