David Edwards

David is a multi-disciplinary professional with 25 years of consulting experience in the UK and internationally.

During this time, he has had a core involvement in the planning, design and implementation of significant development projects on behalf of public, private and international organisations.

In this UK, these span from complex regeneration projects at Greenwich Peninsula, Thames Gateway, Paddington Basin, Clyde Gateway and Nottingham Eastside to town centre action and visioning strategies, new master plans, design guidelines and development control. Overseas studies have included the preparation of frameworks for mixed-use developments on sites of up to 3,000 hectares across Europe, East Asia and the MENA region.

David has been the Principal of Hertfordshire based architects and urban designers, Placemake, since 2013. In addition to his day-to-day activities with the practice, David provides independent urban planning and design advice to local authorities and an intergovernmental organisation. He regularly contributes to professional journals and has been a member of design review panels since 2014.
