David Edwards

David is a chartered architect and a spatial planner with 25 years of experience in the UK and internationally.

During this time, he’s had a core involvement in the preparation of master plans and strategies for a number of significant mixed-use developments. These span from complex regeneration sites at Greenwich Peninsula, Thames Gateway, Paddington Basin, the Clyde Gateway and Nottingham Eastside to new settlements for up to 200,000 permanent residents. Many of these have received commendations and are now at various stages of realisation.

He has been a Director at Placemake since 2013. Before this, he worked with prominent design practices in Farrells, Gehl Architects and Sir Frank Mears Associates and multidisciplinary, multinational consultancies in Halcrow and Dar Group.

In addition to his practice activities, David provides independent urban design advice for a number of local authorities and an intergovernmental organisation.

He regularly contributes to professional publications and has been a member of design review panels since 2014.
