Rachel is an expert in healthy urbanism and transport decarbonisation. Originally a landscape architect, she has designed streets and public spaces in the UK, Ireland, India and Nepal, and has delivered town centre regeneration and managed social housing. Since 2014 Rachel has led built environment strategies for the NHS’s Healthy New Towns programme, the Mayor of London, Public Health England and Design Council. Rachel now steers Sustrans’ work to increase active travel in urban areas across the UK, encompassing both infrastructure design and behaviour change initiatives.
