In Norwich, we are running a Community Review Panel alongside a Design Review Panel focused on the major proposed development at Anglia Square, where there is a proposal for a c.1,100 home mixed-use development. We are running sessions with a group of local community members who live, work or volunteer around this key city centre site, providing an opportunity for people who might not usually get involved in design or planning discussions to have their voices heard.
This supplements the consultation work undertaken by the applicant and the work of the Design Review Panel. Each session focuses on a different issue, such as public space or parking and movement. The sessions are friendly, relaxed and mindful of people’s different backgrounds and experiences. Ultimately these local voices will help to arrive at the best possible outcome for the site and for the existing local community.
